A Brief Introduction
Now, to stay competitive, you have to juggle keeping up with all of the new laws and regulations, having the latest in technology, researching your software options, maintaining web sites, looking into search engine optimization techniques, working with pay per click companies, following up with all of the details of your transactions, trying to keep your sellers happy with their ever increasing demands and expectations. I could go on and on. The point being, is that you start feeling that the business is controlling you, and that you no longer are enjoying, or even have the time you used to have to just help people buy and sell houses!
That's why I structured Doug Burger Realty Group the way I did. I decided to absolutely stop working with customers and focus on supporting the agents with everything they need behind the scenes to not only stay competitive, but to absolutely stay way ahead of the competition now and in the future. They are now able to get back to the business of helping people buy and sell real estate, while the broker and the office staff take care of most everything else, including feeding them vast amounts of customers to actually work with.

We all have dozens of choices when it comes time to hang your license. And, there are lots of differences between them all, just like there are with people. That's why the different structures and business platforms exist. It doesn't mean that one company is necessarily better than another company. It depends on whether that company is meeting the needs of any particular agent.
I have designed a company that definitely doesn't fit all agents. In fact, I'm only looking for it to fit about a dozen. The premise behind Doug Burger Realty Group, is to take an already good agent and make them stellar.
As you start to embrace new ways of doing business and try to maintain a competitive edge, you realize that the real estate business has become extremely complicated. As an example, when I started out,
almost thirty years ago, I didn't even own a typewriter. Agents didn't have cell phones, purchase and sale agreements were two or three pages, and fax machines didn't exist. I made an eighteen hour trip one day to go to Bend, Oregon and back just to get a signature that we had to have!
